Unit DX Response to the Black Lives Matter Movement

We acknowledge the systemic racism that exists in the UK and that the science and tech sectors are complicit in the problem.

The Black Lives Matter movement has shown that everyone can do more. It’s now our turn to further the action that’s seen millions of people stand up to racism in all forms. Right now, we are committing to a period of reflection to consider the changes we can make as an organisation and as an incubator that works with new businesses. Acting without listening is not acceptable, and we encourage you to contact us anytime to share your views with us.

We are an open, inclusive and tolerant space, and we are proud of our work with our local communities, but we know we can do more. We must use our position to catalyse real change and will work with our partners to consider how best we can do this.

The response to racism requires long term, permanent changes, and we commit to addressing and making these changes within ourselves and our organisation. In the coming weeks and months, we will be exploring how we confront and address racism and discrimination in all forms through our work, and posting a series of blogs and articles to show our work.
