Who’s Here

Anaphite

Facilitating the next generation of supercapacitors, batteries, thermal materials, and air purification systems by enhancing their constituent technologies with graphene.

BCP

BCP specialise in identifying business opportunities for emerging technologies and using interdisciplinary teams to drive innovation forward.  By forging a connection between the private sector and academic institutions, BCP is working to kick-start the creation of scientific enterprises and opportunities in Bristol, thereby driving the growth of a Scientific City.

Carbometrics

Carbometrics is a specialist chemistry company based in Bristol, UK.  Our core competency is the design, synthesis and derivatisation of highly selective and robust carbohydrate-binding molecules. One subset of these molecules – our family of Glucose Binding Molecules (GBMs) – exhibits unprecedented selectivity for glucose. It is unaffected by pH and is highly chemically and thermally stable.  Our approach to designing GBMs is completely novel and distinct from those used in incumbent glucose sensing technologies that are based on boronic acids, proteins or enzymes.

Cytoseek

CytoSeek’s mission is to use cell membrane augmentation technology to unlock the potential of next generation of advanced therapies. We are a spinout company from the University of Bristol. Our novel cell membrane augmentation technology enables us to add new functionalities to cell therapies including tissue-specific targeting and enhanced cell survivability.

CytoSeek is engaged in proof of principle studies to demonstrate enhancement of cell therapies for cancer, heart disease, osteoarthritis and diabetic wound healing. We are looking to partner with cell therapy companies to bring these products to the clinic and ultimately enhance human health.

Dashboard Ltd

Dashboard is at the forefront of industrial process/infrastructure monitoring, capitalising on the IoT (Internet of Things) revolution. Dashboard produce in-line sensors and cloud software for infrastructure and pipeline monitoring.

FluoretiQ

FluoretiQ ‘s Quantum-enhanced fluorescence sensors are capable of detecting fluorescent emission at unparalleled levels of sensitivity and use solid-state technology, which translates to savings of up to 90% of nearest rivals.

Folium Science

Folium Science researches and develops Biome Modulators for the agriculture and food sector. Our unique CRISPR technology harnesses bacteria’s natural defense to bio-actively maintain bacterial populations which can support animal nutrition, plant health and soil condition. This organic, non GMO, non-antibiotic solution has the potential to change the way we manage our food value chain in the future.

GM Scientific

GM Scientific is an R&D based business that specialises in nuclear track etch detector technology. Consultancy, sourcing of equipment and materials can be offered.

ID Quantique

ID Quantique (IDQ) is the world leader in quantum-safe crypto solutions, designed to protect data for the long-term future. The company provides quantum-safe network encryption solutions and services to the financial industry, enterprises and government organisations. IDQ also commercializes a quantum random number generator (QRNG), which is the reference in the security, simulation and gaming industries. Additionally, IDQ is a leading provider of optical instrumentation products, most notably photon counters and related electronics. The company’s innovative photonic solutions are used in both commercial and research applications.

Imophoron

Imophoron is developing a novel vaccine platform for use on emerging infectious diseases. The platform is based on a single component of the human Adenovirus that spontaneously forms a superparticle, the ADDomer. The team have demonstrated tumour clearance in a melanoma (skin cancer) mouse model and are now developing a universal vaccine candidate for Chikungunya, Dengue and Zika.

Inductosense

Inductosense has developed innovative ultrasonic sensing technology for non-destructive testing of structures. The Wireless and Non-Destructive System (known as WAND) can be used across a range of industries such as Oil&Gas, Nuclear, Wind and Aerospace to reduce inspection time, downtime and associated costs.

Innaxon

Innaxon Therapeutics is an early stage, UK-based company, working on the design, validation and formulation of novel immune-modulating glycolipids targeting key innate immunity receptors such as Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). There is a rapidly expanding demand for such designer adjuvants owing to their wide range of application in vaccine optimization and potentiation against infectious diseases and use as anti-inflammatories.

KETS

KETS has developed a range of technologies for quantum-secured communications, including quantum key distribution (QKD) and quantum random number generation (QRNG). Our devices are based on integrated photonic technologies leading to miniaturisation, cost-effective manufacture, and complex functionality.

NS Science

Next Step Science provides facilities, business support and expertise for early-stage scientific companies. As the designer, developer and facilities manager behind Unit DX, we are working to lower the barriers to entry for science start-ups.

Nunano Ltd

NuNano is a UK-based company specialising in the design and manufacture of probes for atomic force microscopy and cantilever-based sensor devices.

QLM Ltd

QLM are developing a quantum-inspired laser radar, capable of detecting minute methane leaks and designed to be mounted on a drone for conducting aerial surveys.

QTEC

The QTEC programme is a joint initiative between the University of Bristol and Cranfield University which aims to connect quantum-minded engineers to the National Quantum Technology (QT) Programme. This generously funded year-long initiative brings together companies, investors, and the facilities and skills essential for the incubation of early-stage businesses in the emerging quantum technology industry.

Spin Up Science

Championing and supporting innovators and entrepreneurs in science.

STL

STL Technology is a technology development company focused on supporting innovation in advanced engineering industries. The firm’s expertise lies in its growing resources in the field of condition and structural health monitoring, software, modelling and simulation. STL has excellent links to research organisations and universities, and have an extensive understanding of the most promising emerging technologies.

Vitamica

Vitamica is developing a novel diagnostic technology to test pathogenic bacteria for susceptibility to antibiotics within one hour. Their technology will transform the way clinicians make decisions on antibiotic choice for the benefit of patients now and in the future.

Zellabox

Zellabox is the market leader in Micro Data Centres (MDCs).  A Zellabox brings the same benefits as a normal data centre – intelligence, climate control, physical and data security and central management but in a fridge-sized footprint that saves power, reduces emissions and can be installed locally without major infrastructure investment.

Zentraxa

Zentraxa’s proprietary technological platform, Zentide, combined with our extensive technical know-how allows us to push the boundaries of what can be achieved with synthetic biopolymers. We specialise in the design, production and testing of complex novel peptides and, as a result of our Zentide platform, can circumvent previously existing bio-design limits imposed by conventional peptide synthesis, with one universal process.
